Transport Options

Getting to and from Mount Lawley Senior High School safely, efficiently, and sustainably is important for our students, families, and community.

Whether walking, cycling, taking public transport, or driving, we provide guidelines and support to ensure students’ journeys are safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly. This page outlines all available options, rules, and expectations for students travelling to and from school.

Walking

Walking is a healthy, planet-friendly choice! Please take care when crossing roads and use pedestrian crossings where available.

Bicycles

Riding to school is encouraged, but safety is a top priority:

  • Bikes must not be ridden on school grounds.

  • Students should provide a security lock for their bike and wear a helmet.

  • Bikes must be parked in the designated bike racks; any left elsewhere will be removed.

  • Bike racks are locked at 9:00 am and unlocked at 2:30 pm. Students needing access outside these times (e.g., appointments) must collect a key from Middle School or Senior School Reception.

Scooter, Skateboard & E-Rideable Use

Skateboards and scooters may be brought to school; however, they must not be ridden on school grounds at any time.

E-scooters and e-bikes (e-rideables) are also permitted, subject to Western Australian road safety laws and school expectations. These devices must not be ridden within school grounds.

Students under the age of 16 are not permitted to ride e-rideables.

All scooters, skateboards, e-scooters and e-bikes must be stored in the designated compound located at the rear of Student Services.
